What’s your program and specialty/subject matter of focus?
I am a PhD student majoring in Epidemiology. I am entering my second year.
Why did you choose to join the PHSA? And why are you suited for your position?
I was involved with the PHSA during my first year at DLSPH, and found that it was a great way to meet other people who are passionate about making a difference at DLSPH outside of my program, and also a way to have a voice regarding program and DLSPH-wide issues.
Tell us about a challenge that you’ve had to overcome during your time at the School!
One of my biggest challenges has been to make sure that I am involving myself in the community academically and socially. Starting graduate school can be a stressful time, and the workload can make it hard to socialize and remember that there are still things going on outside of it. Therefore, the events can be a great way to take a break, but also meet people who are similarly experiencing the grade school crunch. This comradeship can be invaluable to not only your academic success, but also mental well-being during graduate school!
