Jasmine Ryu Won Kang

Jasmine Ryu Won Kang is an MD/PhD candidate in molecular genetics at the University of Toronto. She has a passion for science communication, narrative medicine and uncovering patient stories. She has written for The Toronto Star and The Conversation and was fortunate to receive the John H. Price McDonald Award for Excellence in Student Journalism for Science Reporting. She hopes to cover a range of topics, including ageing and long-term care in Canada as well as early cancer detection and cancer prevention. Outside of journalism, she has clinical interests in hematology oncology, palliative care and geriatrics.
