Research Interests

  • Addiction and mental health services and systems research, mental health and substance abuse co-morbidity, social/psychiatric epidemiology, screening for co-morbidity, evaluation and planning of community prevention and health care systems,
  • Research and community relationships vis a vis knowledge exchange and particularly with respect to addictions and mental health as well as chronic disease prevention
  • Program and policy evaluation, community needs assessment and logic models and tool for program planning and evaluation, performance monitoring at the organizational and health system levels

  • 2006-2008 – Validation and staged comparison of screening tools to identify mental disorders in clients seeking treatment for substance abuse. Canadian Institutes for Health Research, approved for September 1, 2006 to August 31, 2008. Amount $415,056.
