The Dalla Lana School of Public Health (DLSPH) continues a unique legacy of public health teaching, research, and professional development that stretches back more than a century; a legacy strengthened during the COVID-19 pandemic. The School’s history is told in several exhibits, but its physical documentary, visual and digital legacy, in the context of the history of public health in Canada and beyond, remains disparate and vulnerable. Some materials are preserved in various archives, especially in the University of Toronto Archives.

DLSPH, in partnership with the University of Toronto Archives and Records Management Services (UTARMS), has launched the “Public Health History Archives” initiative to pro-actively add to, further develop, and promote the public health related collections held by the U of T Archives. Of special interest is bolstering the acquisition and preservation of records of DLSPH faculty and others associated with public health at the University of Toronto.

Learn more about the “Public Health History Archives” project in a special webinar, and how you, and/or past members of the U. of T. public health community, can contribute papers and other records of historical value.

Participating in this webinar are:

Christopher Rutty: medical/public health historian; Adjunct Professor, DLSPH
Heidi Singer: Director of Communications, DLSPH
Tys Klumpenhouwer: University Archivist, University of Toronto
Daniela Ansovini: Archivist, University of Toronto
Chandrakant Shah: Professor Emeritus, DLSPH
