Date: Monday March 9th from 5:00-7:00 in HS208
Panelists: Lisa Vanlint, Blake Poland, Tomislav Svoboda
Presented by: Emerging Leaders for Environmental Sustainability in Health (ELESH) as part of UTERNS EcoFest
Abstract: The climate crisis has been called the greatest threat to human health. If you feel overwhelmed and powerless, you’re not alone. How do we move from deep concern to real action on climate, understanding that the climate crisis is both perpetuated by the health sector and is an existential threat to health? Emerging Leaders for Environmental Sustainability in Healthcare (ELESH) are pleased to present a panel discussion on ‘System change for health in the climate crisis’ featuring leaders in the climate change and health spaces. Attendees can expect to leave with concrete actions they can take to confront the climate crisis and lead the way toward a better, more sustainable world.
ELESH: Emerging Leaders for Environmental Sustainability in Healthcare is UofT’s only multidisciplinary group dedicated to education and advocacy at the intersection of health, healthcare, and sustainability to foster the development of health sector leaders in sustainability.
