The Health and Wellness Centre is offering U of T students a FREE in-person LivingWorks safeTALK training on Tuesday, February 27th, from 9:30am – 1:00 pm at Student Commons (230 College St., 5th floor, Room 556/558). safeTALK is an evidence-based suicide prevention training workshop designed by LivingWorks. This beginner friendly training is meant for anyone, regardless of their education or background, who wants to learn how to effectively reach out to someone thinking about suicide and help them keep safe by promptly connecting them to further support.

What is safeTALK?
LivingWorks safeTALK is a 3-4 hour, in-person workshop to build skills in suicide prevention. Participants will learn how to recognize and engage with someone thinking about suicide, overcome attitudes that act as barriers to help, talk openly about suicide, and connect with intervention resources for further support. This is a beginner friendly training and is meant for anyone regardless of their education or background.

Upon completion, participants will receive an official safeTALK certification from LivingWorks as well as resources for future reference. To learn more about safeTALK and LivingWorks, please visit: https://livingworks.net/training/livingworks-safetalk/.
