About this Seminar:

Many jurisdictions and organizations have recently been engaged in the development of triage protocols to guide allocation of critical care resources during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, little systematic work has been done to analyze the underlying moral and conceptual character of triage practices. We believe that this absence is a problem; it leads to poor triage design and inadequate justification of triage practices. This presentation begins to address these problems by clarifying the central moral and conceptual decision points that must be addressed in any adequate triage protocol for public health emergencies such as the pandemic.
