The University of Toronto’s Centre for Vaccine Preventable Diseases (CVPD) at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health is hosting an in-person Trainee Session focused on PhD students. The session is supported by funding from Merck Canada.
Please join us on, Friday, September 16, 2022, from 12:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. EDT
Location: The Faculty Club, 41 Willcocks Street, Toronto, ON
This session will be focused on PhD students and will be centered around soft skills and career paths for graduate students
By the end of the session, trainees will:
• Understand how to communicate scientific information to a variety of lay audiences
• Learn how to write effective funding proposals
• Become familiar with different career paths for PhD graduates in scientific disciplines
• Develop a network of other University of Toronto trainees at a similar career stage
To facilitate a safer meeting environment, we have taken the following steps:
• Chosen an event space that allows social distancing and has good air-flow
• Arranged for an outdoor, all-weather space for eating
We request that participants please:
• Wear medical-grade masks during the event, except when eating
