“Bringing Efficacious and Safe Medicines to Patients: A Story of Statistics” by Melanie Poulin-Costello, Hoffmann-La Roche Limited

Abstract: Statisticians have many essential roles in the varied processes of drug development. This talk will highlight how statisticians contribute to the strategic design and analysis of clinical trials. We will touch on the various aspects of clinical trials where a statistician’s contributions are key, including how the role of statistician is evolving as the tools we use advance. Innovation is key for statisticians. We will discuss the use of next generation tools, AI and a future of new ways of working in drug development.
