Over the last 18 months, our worlds have been transformed by a global pandemic that has touched nearly every aspect of our lives. Health and social inequities have been exacerbated and further entrenched. International racial justice, reconciliation and equity movements have gained unprecedented momentum. The need to support developing a new generation of critical qualitative health methodologists has never been more pressing.

Portrait of an Antiracist, Hypermasculine Black Male Pedagogue: Race, Gender (Performance), and Antiracist Pedagogy in U.S. Teacher Education
Scholarship on antiracist pedagogy has proliferated the white world of U.S. teacher education; however, studies scrutinizing this phenomenon from the perspective of Black teacher educators and Black aspiring teachers are scarce. This presentation explores the use of portraiture to examine the racialized, sexed, and gendered aspects of antiracist pedagogy and the implications of such analysis for dismantling whiteness by cultivating environments that support the well-being of Black teachers of all genders and gender performances.
