Friday, May 24th | 1:00pm EST

Dr. Jill Andrew is the MPP for Toronto-St. Paul’s. Jill is the first Black, Queer person to be elected to the Ontario Legislature and reportedly in Canada. Since then, Jill has been a leading voice on issues of gender, race and social justice, the housing crisis, healthcare inequities, education and the immeasurable benefit of arts and culture to our communities but also to our physical, mental, and social health.

In this discussion, we’ll delve into the topic of fat activism at the intersections of race, gender, queerness, and disability. Dr. Andrew will lead the conversation, drawing on her extensive experience in academia, activism, community, and politics. Participants will gain valuable insights into the evolving landscape of fat studies and activism in Canada.
