Afshaan Kohari

Afshaan is passionate about the intersection of health and post-secondary education. She thrives on the connections she builds with donors, alumni, faculty and staff of the School. Afshaan sees herself as the facilitator of valuable conversations that drive the mission and vision of the School. She is always happy to chat with folks who are interested in Public Health and the opportunities that lie ahead, so don’t hesitate to reach out!
Eden Hagos

As an alum of DLSPH, Eden is passionate about public health, health equity, and the groundbreaking work and scholarship at the Faculty. Having joined the Advancement team in August 2024, Eden is eager to engage with alumni and donors to learn more about their interests and help them connect with the school’s mission and impactful initiatives.
Daniel Downey
Alumni Engagement & Annual Giving Officer

Daniel supports alumni engagement efforts and annual giving campaigns at DLSPH in a number of ways, including facilitating connections through alumni events and volunteer opportunities, supporting communications to highlight alumni successes and opportunities, and connecting with alumni through 1:1 meetings. Daniel came to DLSPH in January 2024 after a number of years in the Advancement Office at the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work and is a graduate of the Honours Bachelor of Health Sciences program at McMaster University.
Vanessa Smith

Vanessa brings a project management lens to the team ensuring processes continue to operate in a timely and effective way. Working closely with the Director of Advancement, Vanessa supports Principal and Major Gift activity and helps demonstrate the impact of donors’ philanthropic contributions. Vanessa joined the Advancement team in 2022 and is excited to witness the ongoing growth and partnerships at the School be it with faculty members or donors.
