DLSPH welcomes faculty member in Occupational and Environmental Health

The Dalla Lana School of Public Health would like to welcome Jeremy Scott who will commence a tenure track position as Associate Professor in Occupational and Environmental Health on January 1, 2015. Scott will be teaching an industrial toxicology course at the School this fall.
With a Ph.D. in Pharmacology and Toxicology from the University of Western Ontario, Scott previously taught environmental and occupational health and public health toxicology courses at Lakehead University.
Scott’s research focuses on understanding the molecular and epigenetic mechanisms underlying the adverse physiological effects of occupational and environmental exposures to air pollution; the mechanisms underlying the pathogenesis of respiratory diseases; and, the pathogenesis of food allergy and the importance of route and timing of the exposure to potential allergens.
Over his career to date, Scott has published more than 50 peer-reviewed manuscripts, with more than 100 presentations by himself and his trainees at local, national and international scientific conferences.
