New faculty appointments in Epidemiology and Biostatisics

The Dalla Lana School of Public health would like to welcome three new faculty members to the Divisions of Epidemiology and Biostatistics.
Laura Rosella has been appointed Assistant Professor in Epidemiology and will commence this tenure-track faculty position on July 1, 2014. Rosella is currently a scientist at Public Health Ontario with expertise in epidemiology, biostatistics and public health policy. Her research focuses on the development, validation and application of novel epidemiologic methods that inform optimal approaches for chronic disease prevention.
Olli Saarela has been appointed Assistant Professor in Biostatistics and will commence this tenure-track faculty position on July 1, 2014. Saarela is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Occupational Health at McGill University. His areas of interest are broad and include Bayesian inference, causal inference, missing data problems, efficient study designs, survival analysis and fundamentals of epidemiological research.
Jennifer Brooks has been appointed Assistant Professor in Epidemiology and will commence this tenure-track faculty position on September 1, 2014. Brooks is a molecular epidemiologist in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. Her research interests are focused on the genetic and epigenetic epidemiology of breast cancer risk and response to treatment.
