Beth McCarthy, joins the DLSPH as Director of Advancement
January 27/2014
Dear DLSPH faculty, students, staff, alumni and other stakeholders
I am delighted to announce a new member of our administrative leadership team. On March 31, Beth McCarthy will join us full-time as our inaugural Director of Advancement, in which position she will play a central role in launching the Faculty’s fundraising campaign — the first campaign of its kind for a Canadian school of public health.
Ms. McCarthy is a seasoned fundraiser with more than 20 years of experience in fundraising and philanthropy who will help us achieve our strategic vision through fundraising and development. She will develop, execute and evaluate a comprehensive advancement program, including all fundraising (major gifts, gift planning and annual giving), alumni relations and advancement communications activities for the Faculty.
In her current role as Director of Development for Queen’s University’s Faculty of Arts and Science, McCarthy enabled the Faculty to achieve 90 per cent of its fundraising goal. I look forward to working with her and taking our mission to the next level.
Please welcome Ms. McCarthy in her new role.
I would also like to take this occasion to thank Tracey Brown for the outstanding work she has done for the DLSPH over the last eight months. Seconded to us from the University’s Division of Advancement, Tracey skillfully stewarded our existing and several new donor relationships, created some of our first case studies and strategies for Advancement, and began the process of building our first Campaign Cabinet. As a great friend of DLSPH, we will be following her career and wish her the greatest success.
