Dr. Kue Young to assume position of the Dean of the School of Public Health at the University of Alberta

Dear DLSPH Community,
I would like to share the news that our own Dr. Kue Young, Professor and TransCanada Chair in Aboriginal Health, will be leaving the Dalla Lana School of Public Health to assume the position of Dean of the School of Public Health at the University of Alberta, effective August 1, 2013.
Although it will be a big loss for DLSPH and the University of Toronto, we welcome the opportunity to have a close friend and colleague as the leader of a School that is a great Canadian institution, a source of collaboration for many of you, and the only other School of Public Health in Canada that is a Faculty.
We also take pride in this very clear validation of our own School as a critical source of leadership for academic public health in Canada.
Professor Young will be maintaining many close relationships with us through continuing collaborations on research and training, and we look forward to planning a reception for him this coming September.
Please join me in congratulating Professor Young–soon to be Dean Young– on this new appointment.
