A group of public health students formed the DLSPH Ebola Working Group who have spearheaded a number of education, research and service initiatives to not only learn from the West Africa Ebola epidemic, but have a positive impact.
The group produced a video that asks Torontonians about the current Ebola epidemic and helps dispel myths and misconceptions about the disease. The answers may surprise you, check it out here:
Priya Panchal-Banerjee, a Master of Science in Biomedical Communications student, created this conceptual visualization of the Ebola virus for the course ‘Visual Representation of Processes in Pathology’. Her piece ‘Ebola: The Trojan Horse’ illustrates how the virus evades the immune system, and the damage the virus inflicts on tissues.
Panchal, a graduate student at the University of Toronto Mississauga, researched, conceptualized, wrote, and created all the drawings for the piece. The pathology visualization course is taught by Biomedical Communications faculty, Dr. Shelley Wall, and Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology faculty, Dr. John Wong. Click here for a larger image.
